KLCN-CA I/O Card Non-CE
TPN modules communicate with each other through interconnections of coaxial cable and fiber optic cable. 51304542-100 K2LCN-CA Non-CE I/O is the coaxial cable connector used in dual node chassis to connect separate node to the LCN. The 'B' I/O is 51304544-100 KLCN-CB Non-CE. There are two LCN cables for redundancy, Cable A and Cable B. Each cable must be routed separately and must be marked to indicate that it is Cable A or Cable B.
Cable A is marked with yellow and Cable B with green shrink-fit bands at the connectors. Each node on the TPN connects to both LCN Cable A and LCN Cable B through connectors called BNC tees. These connectors allow a node to be disconnected from the coaxial cable segment without disrupting communication among the other nodes. The BNC tee connectors set is part number 51196041-100 (this is not the same tee connector used for Data Hiway tee's).
The TPN address for each TPN node is in a range from 1 to 64. The address for each node is established by jumper pins on the CLCN A/B board at the back of LCN module chassis. For a node implemented in a Dual Node Module, address pinning is accomplished on the K2LCN/K4LCN board, using the same pinning scheme as for an LCNFL or a CLCN A/B.
An LCN can have up to seven coaxial cable segments_a central segment and up to six remote segments or remote nodes. The remote segments are connected to the central segment with LCN Extenders (LCNE2s/XLCNE2s). LCN Extenders use fiber optic cables that provide ground isolation and can run through hazardous areas to interconnect LCN coaxial cable bus segments.
