Cable Driver & Detectors
The Cable Driver card accepts data from the active Hiway cable and converts it to TTL logic level signals. This card also checks the BCH code of an incoming word, and if it shows no errors, the data is passed to the Cable Logic card.
In the outbound direction, the Cable Driver card accepts data from the Cable Logic card which is destined for the Hiway. It generates a BCH code and adds this to the word to be transmitted. The TTL level signal is then converted to a Hiway level signal to transmit the word onto the Hiway.
Jumpers:
W/HTD Normal position when a HTD is on the Hiway.
W/O HTD When the only preferred access device on the Hiway is this Op Station, the station can be configured without the HTD. This jumper position permits cable switching without the HTD.
LEDs:
DS1 Illuminated when cable A is active DS2 Illuminated when cable B is active
