The Low Energy Process Interface Unit (LE PIU) provides termination and preprocessing for high level and low level analog inputs where Intrinsic Safety (IS) or remote multiplexing is required. Up to 254 inputs are periodically read, processed and stored in data base memory for access on demand. Significant alarm/change reports are initiated on occurrence.
