The 51305072-400 is the non-CE version of the LCN I/O board for Honeywell's 5-slot and 10-slot chassis. This is the card to set the LCN node address, and connect the LCN A and B cables. The address is configured using a slide switch.

TPN modules communicate with each other via interconnections of coaxial and fiber optic cables.? For redundancy, there are two LCN cables: Cable A and Cable B. Each cable should be routed separately clearly marked to distinguish between the two.

• Cable A is marked with yellow shrink-fit bands.
• Cable B is marked with green shrink-fit bands at the connectors.

Each node in the TPN system connects to both LCN Cable A and LCN Cable B through BNC Tee connectors on the 51305072-400 PWA. These connectors allow a node to be disconnected from the coaxial cable segment without affecting communication between the other nodes. The part number for these tee connectors is 51196041-100 (note: this is different from the part number used for Data Hiway tee connectors).

An LCN system can include up to seven coaxial cable segments: one central segment and up to six remote segments or nodes. The remote segments are connected to the central segment using LCN Extenders (LCNE2s/XLCNE2s). These extenders use fiber optic cables, which provide ground isolation and can run through hazardous areas to link the LCN coaxial cable bus segments.
