This item is an empty card file and backplane for the Basic Controller and Extended Controller.

The controller receives power from the cabinet's busbars via two screws into the busbars. One screw is for +24V and the other is Common. The Controller can be wired for a UAC system, and the same chassis is used for the primary and reserve controllers.

The controller files are designed to accept 11 cards. Two optional Hiway Cards are required with optional BASIC Operator Station or a host computer. A choice of either of two optional cards at slot 7 (or no card), depends upon the user's choice.

Each card file has a card cage, guides, connectors, and an integral printed-wire backplane (p/n 30731652-001) through which signal paths are completed. Digital inputs come in on the outer edge of the optional Digital-Input / Data-Entry-Panel Interface (DIDEP) card. Fifty-pin female connectors provide for external connection of the Data Entry Panel and the terminal panel. Connection to power, ground, and signal common is completed via screw-terminal connection to a power bus. An LED indicator (DS1) on the backplane denotes the availability of power to the backplane from the power distribution bus bars.

Backplanes for basic and extended controllers are identical and the model number difference references the configuration ordered.
