This is the transceiver card for the Basic and Extended Reserve Controller Directors, located in Slot 7 of the RCD chassis.
This card provides the interface between the CMOS memory cards in the primary and reserve controllers of a UAC installation. The transceiver is the card that works with the CPU of the RCD at the time of failure to transfer point records from the failed primary controller into the CMOS memory of the reserve controller.
