The 51304511-100 NIM Modem is the paddle card in the NIM with connections for UCN network cables A and B. This single paddle board replaces several components from older NIM configurations, including the PNM, PNM I/O, PNI I/O, and the mini-coax. This modem can also be used for a carrier band PIN (Plant Information Network) in the Network Gateway.

The 51304511-100 (NIM Modem) paddle board serves as the I/O interface for the Enhanced Network Interface (EPNI) board 51401583-100, which is the main logic board in the the NIM (Network Interface Module).

NETWORK INTERFACE MODULE (NIM)

The NIM provides the connection between the Universal Control Network (UCN) and the Local Control Network (LCN), which includes xPM and LM nodes and their point databases.

For best reliability, the NIM should be configured as a pair of redundant NIMs.

In earlier NIM configurations, the functions now managed by the EPNI were handled by the older PNI and PNM boards.

Firmware revision 'H' is required for the 51401583-100 board if SOE time synchronization is needed.
