The Honeywell 51305896-100 (NIM) Interface board is the I/O for the Enhanced Process Network Interface (EPNI) board 51401583-100 which is the main logic board that identifies the NIM (Network Interface Module). The NIM provides the interconnection between the Universal Control Network (UCN) and the Local Control Network (LCN) containing xPM and LM nodes and their point databases. Firmware revision 'H' for board 51401583-100 is required if SOE time synchronization is required.

The 51305896-100 Modem is the paddle card in the NIM with connections for the UCN network cables, A & B. This single paddle board replaces the functions of the PNM, the PNM I/O, the PNI I/O, and the mini-coax in the older configurations of the NIM. The MODEM can be used for a carrier band PIN (Plant Information Network) in the Network Gateway.
